DS is training really hard for the HS Cross Country team, running 2 miles each morning, and doing low impact exercises, and another 1 mile each evening. He really needed new running shoes, so we all went to the Athletic store. They were having a huge shoe sale! I bought a pair of really nice Asics running shoes - marked down from $134 to $49.99!

It was a wonderfully cool evening, so when we got home, DS talked me in to going running with him! OMG! That was seriously, the first time I have gone running since high school gym class - 16 years ago! We ran about a 1/2 mile - I know that doesn't sound like much - but for me that was a lot!

Today, my legs feel like Jelly! But, DS has designed a whole workout routine for me, which means we will be stretching, running, and doing crunches again tonight after it cools down!  diva

how much fun!! I think that sounds really awesome.

DD and I run but not every night.
We did finish the Bay Bridge 8K together last month though... that was a really neat experience for me.

You're going to be as in shape as a teenager!!  yippee

It is so hard! Before this new regimen DS has me on, my biggest daily workout was carrying groceries & laundry baskets up stairs! LOL!

Last night we stretched, then ran & power-walked 1.3 miles, then did crunches & pilate stretches. Tonight I was so sore I could barely run at all, so we mainly power walked 1/2 mile, then did pilate stretches & crunches.

Today I went to Target and bought a pedometer, exercise ball, and a scale. We have been eating a lot better the last few weeks - since LAX is over and I actually have time to cook! Plus, this time of year we can get so many more good fruits & veggies. When I weighed myself today, I found out I have lost 6 pounds - down to 120! That puts me only 5 lb. away from what I think my ideal weight is!  diva

My main focus is really on toning up, and just generally getting in better shape vs. losing weight, so I still have a lot of work to do!

DS said he is unsure of the best way to "train me" because he is afraid I will have a heart attack if he pushes me as hard as his cross country coach does!  blink tongue

It sounds great!  Have fun - and take care not to get hurt early on and put yourself out of commission. Wink

I have a plan set for myself starting Monday - hope we both step up to the plate for our own good! diva
