I love this time of year, when all of the Farmers Market start, and I can buy local produce!

Today DS and I hit a weekly Farmers Market in the next town, and bought some really nice plants -  Rosemary, Parsley, Basil, and Dill. As it is so early in the season here, there was not that wide of a selection, but we did also buy some really nice butter crunch lettuce & strawberries too.

We are going to another one on Saturday in search of strawberry plants to add to our garden.

I read somewhere that supporting Farmers Markets, and buying local produce is a way to reduce your personal oil consumption - another bonus!

Sounds fun! Maybe I will try to find one around here this weekend! Although DH and I did start our own garden this year which is growing pretty rapidly!

We actually ate some of the lettuce from our garden the other night. Yum!!

I love farmers markets!  The locally grown stuff is so fresh and yummy, and it's fun to see what's out there.  Especially in the summer!

I just went to one yesterday - so nice to buy fresh, local produce.  We have one downtown that runs year-round on Saturdays, so we're lucky in that regard.

I went back to the same one again today, and bought a nice selection of fresh fruits & veggies, and even some fresh baked cheddar/ jalapeno bread. However, once I got everything inside, my 8 yr old DS and his friend ate ALL of the Strawberries & Cherries  - like little piggies - in about 4 minutes!  hammer

So, now I am planning on going to another farmers market in our town on Saturday morning!

lol!

We have a farmer's market every saturday within walking distance to us and we love it!  I've been thinking about getting a little wagon so we can carry back more stuff than we usually do.
We go bonkers over the fresh snap peas... they're like candy big grin
