Do your cities or schools celebrate Earth Day?  Our school hosts a big Earth Day celebration each year.  I think we had over 3,000 people attend last year!  Tomorrow is this year's big event, and it's been HOT, so we're planning on drinking lots of water and trying to keep cool.

Our city also does an Earth Day event downtown that is fun - we went last year.

The last really cool Earth Day Celebration our city had (that I can remember) was back when I was in High School. The weather is so unpredictable here this time of year, it is really hard to plan anything. Last weekend it was 70 and sunny - today it was 45 and raining! Ugh!

What kind of things does your area incorporate in to the celebration? Did you all have fun?

Our celebration has just about everything - vendor areas, food, drinks, silent auction, raffles, live entertainment, alternative medicine and practitioners, demos of electric cars, toddler area, kid's crafts area, dunk tank, climbing wall, hooping demo, local products, organic products, info on solar energy...

It was a gorgeous day today, probably about 90*F - lots of people, and everyone seemed to be really relaxing and enjoying themselves.  Working there, I know a lot of people, but I also saw people that I didn't expect to see, which was fun.  I'll be curious to see what the approximate attendance turned out to be.

It seems like everywhere I turn, there are lots of articles, advertisements, fairs, etc. etc. on "green living".
