The Evil Cancer has hit my family, again, head on...

This time, My FATHER,  has been diagnosed with Cancer....

Today, the Dr. called and told my Dad he has Prostate Cancer....

I cannot even believe this!  My Dad is the healthiest 64 year old I have ever seen. He eats healthy foods, he isn't overweight, doesn't smoke or drink... I swear the man does not even get the common cold - how could this happen???

I am swinging between complete disbelief and crying spells.

I cannot take anymore of this evil disease. Except for my Mom, EVERY single
blood relative of mine over the age of 50 has had Cancer or has Cancer now.
My sister and I have both had early Cervical Cancer, and we lost Karla, at
age 28, last spring!

I cannot even speak. I am sorry to vent - I hope you have can understand how frustrating and shitty it is.

I cannot lose my father...

I'm so sorry.  Hopefully they've caught it early and it will be very treatable!  I will keep him in my thoughts.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers.  hug

It is really tough, because he wont even talk about it and is being very stubborn about his treatment options. I fear that he is in some denial - thinking if he just pretends it is not happening then he can put off some really tough decisions pertaining to what treatment methods are the most viable.

Actually, I have to say my whole family is acting that way, and it is kind of making me crazy! My parents invited all of "the adults" in the family to meet them at thier country club Friday night for a Martini. I assumed that he wanted to talk to us about it, but nobody even acknowledged the big Elephant in the room... I din't know what to say either...

Anyway, thank you all for your support during this. I will keep you posted as we find out more after he has his bone scan next week.
