Hey everyone!

I was hoping you might have a few suggestions for me and anyone else in the same boat.

I\'ve been with my significant other for about 3 years now and we\'re in that \"still very much in love, but definitely comfortable with each other\" stage. It\'s not that we have to really work at keeping the relationship alive, but we\'re both college students- so the cash flow is a little tight most of the time. Needless to say, we usually wind up renting a movie and hanging out at home because it\'s the cheapest thing to do. Sure, we still go out. We like to go to a nearby orchard and pick fruit, cook, play board and card games and stuff, but sometimes we can just get stuck.

So I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for fun activities that don\'t cost a lot of money.

Thanks a bunch!!!

Going out for breakfast on the weekend can be pretty inexpensive, and a relaxing way to linger over a Saturday or Sunday morning.

Are there community activities in your area?  Street fairs, inexpensive concerts, that sort of thing?

What about hiking?  Any good places to go walking on trails?

There are a few good things to do like going on the local bike trail and hanging out at Valley Forge Park. Now that the weather is nicer there will be a lot more thing to do. The winter is usually the worst because that\'s when nothing is around.

I really like that breakfast idea. Maybe we\'ll try a breakfast in bed with \"the works.\"

Thanks!!!

Here are some ideas:

Sometimes college theatre productions will have free admission or low cost admission for their dress rehearsals.

Locally, our museums have free admission one day a month.

College music departments may have free or low cost concerts by their students to meet class performance requirements.

You can often find some videos/dvds at your local library for free, instead of paying to rent them.

If you go to the same college, there may be low cost (student rate) recreation classes (swing dance, kickboxing, etc.) that you can take together.  Also, there may be free facilities on campus like tennis or racquetball courts where you can play together.

Not sure if you\'re 21 yet, so night clubs may be out, but if you both are then you can get there in time to \'beat\' the cover charge and hang out to listen to the band for free.  If your area has any 18 and over clubs, that\'s another option if they have free admission before a certain time (usually 8 pm but call first).

Also - check the website for your local convention and visitor\'s bureau to see if they list local events and activities.

One thing that DBF & I like to do is go the the Farmer\'s Market on saturday or sunday and get the things to make ourselves a good meal to have together. Ie: this weekend we got new potaoes, spring onions, baby carrots, a beef roast, which we put in the crock pot to have for a great supper together. it is a nice way to spend some time togethet and you get a liitle exercize walking around.
