I was so happy to come across this forum! In case you weren’t aware, Melissa & Joey is back with all new episodes this summer! I actually work on behalf of the network and wanted to see if you were all following the show? It’s even funnier this time around and there are some really great guest appearances too. In case you missed any episodes, you can watch them all right here!  Who else here will tune in every week?

When consider tile please be aware of the following.  If you floor is not totally level the tile will crack.  Your contractor can remedy this by "floating" the floor.  Larger tiles will make a room look larger.  I am an experienced kitchen and bath designer, so I have had this experience many, many times.  You can ask for a "butt" joint so that very little grout will show (and get dirty).  Make certain that the grout is sealed properly.  Also, there is ceramic tile and thru body porcelain tile (more expensive).  The through body porcelain is more expensive, however if you chip it (as in kitchen area, dropped frying pan etc.) the chipped area will be the same color as the top surface and will not look bad.  If you decide to use travertine tile, or limestone, beware of the upkeep factor.  It is naturally porous and is sealed upon installation, however the cleaning and upkeep (resealing) is greater.  There are many great tiles that look very natural.  Of course you will have some repeat design tiles, but a good installer will scatter and turn the tiles different directions so that it looks more natural.  Tile will have a rating on the back that tells you appropriate use areas.  Definately get some "tooth" on your tile or you will, I promise, be on your tushy if it gets wet.
