Title: Hanging out with DD Post by: Jen on December 27, 2008, 02:13:57 PM DD and I are making soap today (well, at the moment we're waiting for the current batch to dry). We bought more melt-and-pour soap base plus some new colors and scents. Everyone else is out sailing right now, so it's just us and it's kind of nice to have some quiet crafty time together. :hearts:

Title: Re: Hanging out with DD Post by: Jen on December 27, 2008, 10:19:24 PM It's very simple - just melt it in the microwave, add scents, colors, glitter, whatever, and pour into molds. About an hour later, pop them out!
Title: Re: Hanging out with DD Post by: JennR on December 29, 2008, 06:10:39 PM That sounds like fun! I always thought you had to use a double boiler to make soap - I may have to try it out now!

PS: where do you get the molds, scents, colors, glitter etc? Title: Re: Hanging out with DD Post by: Tricia on January 04, 2009, 04:52:18 PM that sounds so fun! I think my boys would like to do that to make gifts for people.
Title: Re: Hanging out with DD Post by: Jen on January 04, 2009, 09:19:57 PM I got the soap at Joann's the last couple of times, but I think Michaels would have it as well, or any other big craft store. You could probably find it online too, though it's heavy and might cost a lot to ship.
