Title: Offer Accepted! In Escrow!
Post by: HeatherH on July 23, 2008, 09:17:08 AM
We did it!   :yipee:  Our offer was accepted and we either open escrow today or we opened it yesterday.  YIPEE!  Different house than we talked about before, but we're thrilled!   :D  I'm super excited.  It's a 30 day escrow, so I'd better start packing.  hee hee hee  We got a seller concession to install central air (it has heat, but no air) so I've got to get going on that.  We've got our home inspection today at 1 o'clock.   :diva:

Congratulations!  I hope the inspection goes well and doesn't turn up any surprises. :)

Thanks!   The inspection went well; nothing major and we asked for another $1,500 from the seller (credit to closing costs) to fix the minor stuff that should be done (i.e. GFI outlets near water sources; repair leaky toilet, and the like).  The house is 35 years old, so most of the cosmetic problems are to be expected.  We can't wait to make it our own!

How exciting!!! I am going to the bank this morning to deposit the check that will go towards our monthly mortgage Aug 1. LOL. We have a loan though that if we pay on time all of this year (our first year as home owners), our interest rate will automatically go down a few points next year!
