Tomorrow is my Grandfather's 90'th Birthday! We are having a huge surprise party for him at my parents house, which is going to be sort of like a family reunion, with grandkids coming in from all over the country.

I am amazed by the fact that he is turning 90! If you met him you would think he was maybe 70 - He is completely independent and self-sufficient, lives alone, and drives himself all over the tri-state area to see his great-grandchildren's  sporting events, and is sharp as a nail - at 90! 

The party should be a blast. He has always been a huge baseball fan, so we planned a "take me out to the ball game" theme, complete with a hot-dog vendor, and personalized baseball T-shirts. My Mom & sister made a slideshow with tons of pictures of Grandpa and the family from over the years - I can't wait to see it!

Happy Birthday to your beloved Grandfather!  I'm sure you'll all have a great time.  :yipee:

Everyone that reaches 90 DESERVES a big birthday bash!
Make sure to ask for a copy of the slideshow for your kids, someday, they'll REALLY treasure it!

The party was awesome! He thought we were just taking him out to eat with a few family members - he had no idea there would be 100 friends and family waiting for him when he got to my parents house!


The slideshow was amazing! I really have to give my sister and Mom a lot of credit for putting such a touching tribute together. We are getting a copy, so it will be great to have that for the boys (despite the very embarrassing pictures of their Mother sporting some scary 1980's & early 1990's styles!)  :eek:

I think everyone had a great time, and it was so great to see my cousin who flew in from Georgia, and everyone else we hadn't seen in ages! Although, poor DS must've heard "OMG! Is that really him! He is so grown up already! The last time I saw him he was still in diapers!" at least 1,000 times!  :D
