ok so the article in a nutshell- wife of Sherrif steals MIL identity - opens up credit card - spends 14K and swears she thought she put the card in her biz name....  they are still fighting it out..

Lesson Learned:  I am getting my mom somthing totally practical and something completely frivalous --

Supscription to TrustedID where we can get her set up with Lendor Check and IDFreeze meaning no one is stealing anything from her.

AND

a new set of luggage, (ok I know that sounds so Bob Barker) but it's light and it rolls and she has just joined a travel group and is ready to start having some fun ; )

My MIL and her mom (do I say GIL?) are going on a cruise later this year, so DH and I purchased shipboard gifts for them; glasses of wine, chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and balloons for their Bon Voyage.  We spent more than we normally would, but this trip is once in a lifetime for them, and Grandma's not gettin' any younger, so we wanted to make it special.
