Title: twitter.com Post by: Jen on April 24, 2008, 05:26:02 PM Am I lame for not "getting" this site? Why is it fun? What is the appeal?
I found Lara there btw. And we both seem to have exactly one update, so I guess you didn't glom onto it right away either. ;) Title: Re: twitter.com Post by: Lara on April 26, 2008, 09:23:25 AM how funny. I think I probably signed up for this a long time ago but then got an email saying you were following me... yikes I gotta watch my back!! LMAO j/k
I don't understand a lot of these sites so I end up signing up and then getting totally baffled as to how to incorporate them into my life. Anyone have the answers on what the draw is? Title: Re: twitter.com Post by: Jen on April 26, 2008, 12:10:48 PM didn't mean to stalk you! there was an option to search my gmail address book and you came up is all.
Title: Re: twitter.com Post by: Lara on April 26, 2008, 01:33:28 PM lol! Internet stalker  I totally didn't mind at all I thought it was pretty funny. Hopefully we'll have that option when our kids get a little older. I want DD to think I'm following her everywhere... :D
I had that same problem with one of them, I think it was facebook and when I thought it was just searching for people I knew it actually sent them all a message, arg. lol Title: Re: twitter.com Post by: Jen on April 27, 2008, 08:21:25 AM I figured out how to send updates from my phone, but I still don't see the fascination. Who out there cares what I'm doing at any given moment?
Title: Re: twitter.com Post by: JennR on April 27, 2008, 03:34:57 PM Who out there cares what I'm doing at any given moment? LOL! That is why I haven't even tried it out, despite all of the hype. My updates would likely be like... bought canned tomatoes buy-one-get-one free... got home from work to find decapitated chipmunk left as gift from murderous cat... broke up 6 arguments amongst the boys... and anyone who read them would likely be bored to death! Though, I like Lara's idea about using it as a parental advantage. I may just have to go figure the whole twitter thing out, just for that aspect! Title: Re: twitter.com Post by: Soap Star on May 02, 2008, 12:53:23 PM :rotf: Literally a few minutes ago, before I logged into DT, I just figured out how to use text msg with my twitter. I even put my twitter summary on my own website.
BF and I share a car, and sometimes BFF can give me a ride, so now instead of call/text/email to each one, I can show them how to follow me on twitter and then I can keep them posted (did I catch my bus, do I need a ride) no matter where I am - :yipee: - with only one message and not several. I gave it a 2nd look after reading a blog for work (Stephen's Lighthouse) where there's a link to a good youtube video called "twitter in plain english". Neat little summary about why you'd want to use it.
