For the past few years I've wanted to make fabric gift bags to replace some of the paper used around Christmas time.  This year I finally got around to making some.  I think I made seven, which really isn't a lot in the grand scheme of thing, but it's a start!  Essentially, picture something that looks like a pillow case, with ribbon attached securely at one seam, for tying.  I made a variety of sizes using fabric I had on hand.

I re-use bows, ribbons, tissue paper, and boxes from previous years; but I always think about how much wrapping paper, and, frankly, money on the wrapping paper, gets wasted each year.

I re-use what I can, too, so that it feels like all that stuff isn't getting wasted, and so I don't have to buy all new supplies every year.  I don't know that we'll ever be paper-free, but at least for the three of us we can move in that direction.

Cool, I made some out of magazines.  I actually cut apart a paper bag to use as a pattern and then cut and glued the magazine pages.
  It was fun, relatively easy and I like the way they looked.

I actually developed a way to make baskets out of fabric and batting to save on weight when shipping and also storage space when not in use (I hope it's okay to post the link since it is on-topic)
